Custard Factory
It was during a performance at the Custard Factory’s Medicine Bar in its heyday that a member of De La Soul likened the city to hip-hop Mecca, and NY’s hippest district, Brooklyn. A breeding ground for local talent and new businesses concerned with the media, art, music and fashion this is the place to be seen.
And it really did used to be a custard factory in previous years, so a tempting day out in more ways than one. Built over a 100 years ago it was restored in 1990 and has gone from strength to strength since. In a 5-acre sprawl decorated with fine art and fountains, it houses the best local creative, young talent. Drink or dance, day or night, a must see for every bohemian or rock star wannabe.
Why should you go?
It’s the UK’s very own “little Brooklyn”.
