Nightlife

Don’t even attempt to explore Birmingham’s decadent nightlife without arming yourself with locally produced, international magazine Fused. It’s in this rag’s online and print pages that you’ll get to hear about all the amazing one-off events, free-booze shop openings, cool gigs and warm pubs.
One night stands aside there are plenty of regular haunts and public houses to drink or look good in. In terms of evening pleasure, The Beckhams would head to the expensive bars and restaurants in The Mailbox, if they dared to step foot in the thinking man’s city, so avoid this area by night unless you’re a wag or a wannabe wag with pockets lined with gold.
Proper pubs & Weatherspoons
Students, media moguls, social workers and museli eaters maybe spotted in “proper” pubs in the Digbeth area. Newly refurbished gastro-style pubs aren’t really the rage due to a lack of character that just ain’t Brum. But local Weatherspoons go down well with artists for the cheap pricing and beer with a curry offers.
Footballers
The Custard Factory’s Medicine Bar has apparently been invaded on the weekend by local footballers keen for a jump on its break dancing bandwagon. We’ll let you drawn you’re own conclusion from that but if goal scoring is your game then go for gold and gloat about it later (I certainly do!).
