Public transport

Birmingham is great for transport as it’s centrally located in the country. Choose from buses and canal barges to trains of trams. Coach giant National Express has it’s headquarters in Digbeth due to the cities desirable location in terms of transport!
The most popular form of transport is the train and there are 3 main stations in Birmingham’s centre.
New Street – South Birmingham. Change here to land you at the centre of the shops and city
Moor Street – South East Birmingham. Change here for the Bullring and Digbeth
Snow Hill, Livery Street – North Birmingham. Near St Phillips Cathedral and The Great Western Arcade
For both buses and trains you can buy tickets in advance online. The most convenient way to pay for bus journeys is as you get on the bus, you can pay the driver but change and not notes is preferable.
Bus etiquette
If you’re unsure when to get off off or your nearest stop, ask the driver and he should let you know. For trains it’s best to buy your ticket at the ticket offices or machines located in the station, before travel. Again if you’re not sure when to get off let a fellow passenger know and they should let you know.
