Weather

Winter – Be sure to find a good hotel because you sure as hell won’t want to leave it with the weather being so cold. Chilly nights, ground frost and nipping breezes make woolly jumpers and mittens a must. Warm, cosy pubs with log fires do however have a certain appeal in this climate as do Christmasy shops. Average 5C
Spring – the wettest season of the year with typical UK April showers and high chances of rain in the other months. Total down pour unless your lucky, you too could be showering tears of frustration at the Goddam weather. But don’t despair because regeneration is in the air – suburbs lined with typical blossom trees make for super pretty pavements painted in pink petals. Average 12C
Summer – As global warming kicks in the UK get warmer winters at the cost of smaller summers. However this really is the best time to visit, and you’ll enjoy extra benefits, like out-of-town country walks or strolls along the canal (the Midlands in general has the best countryside and canals). Even the concrete towers and derelict Digbeth take on a breathtaking appeal when highlighted with the sun’s rays. Average 19C
Autumn – A classic UK hymn sums it up “Autumn days when the grass is jewelled…” Not the warmest month but crispy brown leaves and dewy grass patches give the city a certain charm during these months. Wrap up warm but have your shades ready for glorious low sunshine breaking out at a relieving intervals. Average 10C
